Application for issuance of
bunker blue cards by Osprey
We are pleased to advise that Osprey Underwriting Agency is able to issue Blue Cards in accordance with Article 7 of the International Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage, 2001 for and on behalf of certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London.

Limitation
Should you wish to calculate the limits of liability under the convention for a vessel of a given gross tonnage greater than GT 1,000, please utilise the spreadsheet available through the following link:
Where a vessel has a P&I limit insured through Osprey that is less than the limit of liability required for by the limit under the Convention, then no Blue Card will be issued. The Assured will, however, be invited to increase the limit of their P&I policy to match that which is required under the Convention for an Additional Premium before a Blue Card may be issued.

War P&I
In respect of War coverage, where the Assured does not already posses adequate War P&I coverage, Osprey can provide this on either a primary or an excess War P&I basis. Coverage will be subject to the War Committee Exclusion Clause.
For War P&I excess of the declared hull value up to the original P&I policy limit, an additional premium of USD250 per vessel will be charged and an additional premium of USD500 per vessel will be charged for primary War P&I coverage, subject to the War Committee exclusion clause up to the original P&I policy limit.
Please note that this information must be included in the Blue Card Application Form otherwise Osprey will not be able to assist in applications for Blue Cards.

It is a condition of Osprey issuing the Bunker Blue Card that Owners maintain full P&I War coverage up to original P&I policy limits for the duration of the Bunker Blue Card period.
