The company’s history goes back to 1993 when Managing Director Tony Usher moved his yacht insurance business from the City of London to become part of the T.L. Dallas Group of Companies in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The business has grown dramatically since these beginnings and in 2008 we purchased the interest of the T.L. Dallas Group in an amicable management buy out and now trade as an independent company. Brokers and insureds that insured vessels with the T.L. Dallas group previously will find that all of our personnel and facilities stayed with us after we became independent and our contact details have remained the same.

Then and now, we insure a variety of vessels from small runabout pleasure craft to bareboat charter fleet, dinner cruise vessels and sightseeing ships. We look after the insurance needs of sport fishing enthusiasts in Central America, recreational day sailors in New England and passionate cruisers just about anywhere in the world.

We have underwriting authorities with a number of major insurance companies in London and Europe as delineated elsewhere on this website and are cover holders for Lloyd’s of London. While we are physically located in Yorkshire in the North of England, our insurance focus is very much in the centre of the market and our customers are in all corners of the globe.
